Press Release - Banque Raiffeisen inaugurates its new playground “Raiffeisen Labyrinth” at the Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg

12 May 2025

In partnership with the APEMH Foundation (Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped Children), Banque Raiffeisen is sponsoring a new playground in the heart of the Parc Merveilleux:  the “Raiffeisen Labyrinth”!

The new playground reflects Banque Raiffeisen's social and environmental commitment to serving all generations.

An interactive labyrinth full of fu

Officially inaugurated on 8 May 2025, the new “Raiffeisen Labyrinth” playground is located in the heart of Bettembourg's famous Parc Merveilleux.

This brand-new facility takes the form of a wooden structure designed to encourage exploration and fun for children, even toddlers. Made entirely from natural materials, it features interactive, sensory and balance games, as well as a tractor and animal-shaped accessories. The entire structure is designed to be environmentally friendly, aesthetically pleasing and safe, and blends harmoniously into the park's forest setting.

Two complementary worlds just a few steps apart

Located just 25 metres from the new “Raiffeisen Labyrinth”, “Raiffeisen Haff” has been a popular family attraction since 2018, designed as a small, fun farm. Accessible to children of all ages, this playground near the mini-zoo brings the world of farming to life with interactive features in a natural and educational setting.

With these two complementary facilities, Banque Raiffeisen is confirming its long-standing commitment to families, playful education, and nature, while enhancing the appeal of the Parc Merveilleux, a must-see destination for many generations of children in Luxembourg.

A strong partnership with APEMH

This second attraction, the “Raiffeisen Labyrinth”, is the result of a close and constructive partnership between the Bank and APEMH Foundation (Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped Children).

The association has been very active within the Parc Merveilleux for several years. Every day, the association's sheltered workshops take care of the complete maintenance of the leisure park. This essential task for the park and its many visitors also enables APEMH staff to train and develop their skills in various areas of activity, including gardening, animal care, electrical installations, and catering.

The strength and effectiveness of the partnership between the Bank and the association is based in particular on a shared vision of reaching and developing the Bank's customer base while respecting the social philosophy of both organisations.

Sustainability and responsibility

For Banque Raiffeisen executives, this new achievement is fully in line with the Bank's philosophy and values, which include sustainability and responsibility.

Since its creation almost a century ago, Banque Raiffeisen has always been aware of its social role within Luxembourg and Luxembourg society as a cooperative bank owned by its members. Furthermore, the concept of sustainability, which is also very much in evidence in many of the Bank's financial products and services, is fully respected in this new fun and educational project, thanks to the use of aesthetic and sustainable materials such as wood, which also blends in perfectly with the surroundings of the Parc Merveilleux.

“With the “Raiffeisen Labyrinth”, we want to offer children a fun, interactive and nature-friendly place to play. By allowing them to have fun while discovering the world around them, we hope to spark their curiosity and raise their awareness of the importance of nature and its preservation from an early age,” says Laurent Zahles, Chairman of the Management Board.
